The newest ad with the 2015 Dodge Charger is mocking the Volkswagen Passat and it’s not the first time when the American company has done it.
Back in May, when it resented its five-year plan, Dodge said that “No kid has ever grew up with a posted of a Passat on his bedroom wall” and in the first clip, the company says “No one sits in their brand new 470 HP Dodge Charger and thinks, oh man, I wish I would have gotten that Passat”. In the newest ad, it is said that “Here it is, the 470 HP HEMI V8, butt kicking, Motley Crue blasting Volkswagen Passat. No, I’m just kidding, it’s a Charger”.
The current top of the line version of the Dodge Charger is the Charger SRT Hellcat, which is the world’s most powerful sedan. It has a 6.2 liter V8 engine under its hood, the same one used on the Challenger SRT Hellcat too, which is producing a total of 707 HP (527 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 mph (160 km/h) and then back to 0, the model needs less than 13 seconds and top speed stands at 328 km/h (204 mph). The quarter mile is done in 11.0 seconds.
