The new generation of the Skoda Octavia has been awarded with an overall 5-star safety rating after being crash tested by EuroNCAP recently.
After it was officially unveiled just a few months ago and recently launched in several markets across the Old Continent, the new generation of the Skoda Octavia is ending up in our news once again, this time with the “help” of the safety specialists at EuroNCAP. After the latest crash tests, the 2014 Skoda Octavia has been awarded with an overall five-star safety rating, scoring 93 percent in adult occupant protection, 86 percent in child occupant protection, 82 percent in pedestrian protection and 66 percent in safety assist.
In the front impact, there was a problem marked as “adequate” with the driver’s right leg and the rest was marked as “good”. The side pole impact has seen a “weak” chest protection and the side impact car was marked “good”, along with the rear impact test. The model in question was appreciated for its safety features like the Skoda Crew Protect Assist, the Skoda Front Assist, the Skoda Lane Assist and the Skoda Multi Collision Brake. The Skoda Octavia tested was the 1.6 Ambition LHD, weighing 1,276 kg.
