The facelifted version of the Audi A8 has been officially unveiled, by the German based automaker.
Following a series of teasers, Audi has finally pulled the wraps off the upgraded version of the A8, which actually represents a facelift. The model in question is getting a different front bumper, a new front grille, a more sculpted hood and the standard LED headlights with V8-powered versions sold in Germany. For some extra money, future customers of the 2014 Audi A8 can receive the Matrix LED headlights, with their 25 individual light emitting diodes, which can be switched on / off individually depending on road conditions.
Changes applied to the 2014 Audi A8 also include the flatter LED taillights, the different rear bumper, the new chrome stripes, the high gloss black window frames and some other tweaks. The model in question will be available with a choice of 12 paint schemes, including 5 new ones, and with alloy wheels available in sizes up to 21-inch.
The engine lineup will include the 3.0L TFSI with 310 HP (228 kW), the 4.0L TFSI twin turbo V8, producing 435 HP ( 320 kW), the 3.0L TDI, with 258 HP (190 kW), and the 4.2L TDI, with 385 HP (283 kW). The Audi A8 L W12 quattro will come with a 6.3L unit, generating 500 HP (368 kW), while the “new” S8 will get 520 HP (380 kW) from the 4.0L TFSI. The 2014 Audi A8 Hybrid will get a 2.0L TFSI and an electric motor, backed up by a lithium-ion battery, producing a total output of 245 HP (180 kW) and 480 Nm of torque (354 lb-ft).
The cabin of the 2014 Audi A8 has received ventilated front seats with massage function, electrically adjustable rear seats available as an option on both the A8 and A8 L, four-zone climate control, lane assist, head-up display, night vision, Bang & Olufsen audio system, rear seat entertainment with 2 screens, a DVD and Bluetooth headphones and more. Prices for the 2014 Audi A8 start at 74,500 EUR, in Germany. The model will go on sale in November.
