The 2016 Lexus GS has been officially unveiled at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The Japanese brand has performed a series of modifications to its exterior design which is now getting a more aggressive spindle grille, updated taillights, bi-LED headlights and some tweaks made to the rear bumper. The model in question has also received the 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, along with the side “enter” buttons and the larger 4.2-inch instrument cluster. The 200t rear-wheel drive version has been added to the lineup, getting the 2.0 liter four-cylinder gasoline burner which is also found on the RC 200t and on the NX 200t. This is capable of producing a total output of 241 HP (180 kW) with a peak torque of 349 Nm (258 lb-ft).
The unit is connected exclusively to the 8-speed automatic transmission and the average fuel consumption stands at 7.1 liters / 100 km (39.6 mpg UK / 33 mpg US) on the highway. Another member added to the GS family is the GS 350, which is making use of a 3.5 liter V6 engine, producing a total of 311 HP (232 kW) and 379 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. This is also connected to the 8-speed automatic transmission. Last but not least, we have to mention the GS 450h too, which is bringing the hybridized 3.5 liter V6, with 338 HP (252 kW). This is connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), allowing the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds, with an EPA estimated at 29 / 34 / 31 mpg in city / highway / combined. The 2015 Lexus GS lineup has also received the several exterior and interior colors, the wood and aluminum trims, the Lexus Safety System+ and so on. No pricing details have been announced at this point.
