The 991.2 updated of the model has been recently caught out in the wild sporting virtually no disguises whatsoever and we’re also treated to the very fashionable 2017 911 Targa 4 GTS model.
The world of Porsches is getting even hotter – we just recently saw the unleashed second generation Panamera put a very hot lap on the Nurburgring Nordschleife and now we’re here to tell you about the update to the 911 range. The facelifted 911 has been here and about for some time now, but what we have here is the yet to be released 2017 911 Targa 4 GTS model, which has been caught “naked” in near-production specification. This one is different from previous spy shots caught in the wild, having no matt black roll hoop and a modified tailpipe recipe. The GTS model is something of a cross between the 4S and a Turbo. It’s more dynamic than the 4S but not as far modified as in the Turbo iterations.
The new Targa 4S GTS is also expected to do the same when it comes to engine power – more than in a regular 4S but less than in the Turbo flagships. As such, an updated version of the twin-turbo, 3.0-litre, flat-six mill from the regular 911 is expected to appear. Since none of the GTS models of the 991.2 facelift have been out and about, there’s no clue to the difference – though we’re surely expecting more than in the 911 S, which comes with 420 horsepower.
