Faraday Future has presented yet another teaser video of its upcoming electric crossover that should become official during the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The model is still largely under a full camouflage coating, but now there are small openings in the clothing to showcase a crimson paint. We don’t even have a name just yet but as far as we can tell the Model X fighter has a blunt front end and a steeply raked back side – so we’re mostly looking at a premium take on the segment in order to match the capabilities of the Tesla competitor. We do have some details – Faraday Future will be using a 98-kilowatt-hour battery pack for a direct brawl with the 100 kWh Tesla Model X P100D. The company says mileage will not be an issue – range should be of more than 300 miles (482 kilometers), a bit more than the 289 miles (465 km) EPA rating of its competitor.
Among the still unconfirmed details also lies the idea that FF will also be deploying a complete autonomous driving system. Over-the-air software updates are also on the menu and once the official presentation is done, the assembly should take place at the still under construction factory in Nevada. Faraday has so far built its solid base of managers – it has snatched the ex-leader of the Apple car program, as well as the former Ferrari North America CEO Marco Mattiacci.
