A Ferrari 458 Italia, a McLaren MP4-12C and a Corvette ZR1 have been recently placed against each other on a track and what came out of that can be seen in the video posted below.
The three supercars have similar engines which generate a similar total output and the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is also similar, but which is best, what would you buy if you had the money? I know my choice and it isn’t in this video, sadly.
The Corvette ZR1 has been in production since 2009 and the model is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 638 HP (647 PS / 476 kW) and 819 Nm of torque (604 lb-ft), being the most powerful production Corvette up to date. The model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and the quarter mile is over in 11.4 seconds, at 129.7 mph.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is also getting a V8 engine, but slightly smaller, 4.5L, which is producing 562 HP at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The Ferrari 458 Italia can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and the quarter mile is done in 10.9 seconds at 132.5 mph.
Last but not least is the McLaren MP4-12C, which is powered by a 3.8 liter V8 turbo engine, producing 616 HP in the updated version. The unit is mated to a seven-speed SSG transmission which is helping the model accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds. The quarter mile is finished in 10.9 seconds at 131.7 mph.
