The newest version of the Ferrari 458 Italia, the 458 Speciale, has been recently caught on camera on the streets of Barcelona, at night, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month. The model in question has been already unveiled just a few days ago, but what we don’t understand is why the model hasn’t been seen in Italy or even in Germany, where it will be seen live during the major automotive event.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale has been fitted with the SSC (Side Slip Angle Control) system, which is analyzing the slip angle, comparing it to a target figure, optimizing the torque management with the traction control and distributing it between the two rear wheels. Power to the supercar is still being provided by a 4.5 liter V8 engine, which is now producing a total output of 605 HP (445 kW) at 9,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft), at 6,000 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes 3 seconds. More details on the supercar will be announced in Frankfurt.
