The second body style of the 488 GTB, the 488 GTS, has been caught on camera for the first time as it was spotted testing out in Maranello.
Since the 458 has been offered in two body styles, the 458 Italia (coupe) and the 458 Spider (roadster), it is obvious that the car manufacturer would offer the new 488 GTB in the same versions, the 488 GTB (coupe) and the 488 GTS (spider). Two test mules of the vehicles mentioned above have been caught on camera recently in Maranello and the clip posted below stands proof. One of them is the roadster variant but before clicking the play button you may want to plug in your headphones because that new twin turbo V8 engine does sound amazing.
The Ferrari 488 GTB is coming as a replacement for the 458 Italia but rather than offering a true successor for the supercar, the company has facelifted it and fitted it with a whole new engine. The model has been officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, a couple of months ago, and it has also made its Asian debut recently, in Shanghai. It has a 50 percent increased downforce, an evolutionary styling and a brand new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, replacing the old 4.5L V8 naturally aspirated. The unit is capable of producing 661 HP (493 kW) and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 3.0s and a top speed of more than 330 km/h (210 mph).
