The official launch film for the newest supercar born in Maranello, the Ferrari 488 Spider, is finally here.
Ferrari is living up to its name as it has released an impressive video with its newest model up to date, the 488 Spider. The supercar, which is the replacement of the 458 Spider, is shown in various landscapes doing what it does best, accelerating and providing a great engine sounds. Expect drifting, high revs and the detailing of some of its features in this new and breathtaking film which can be seen right below.
The Ferrari 488 Spider has made its public debut recently at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The exotic vehicle is bringing a retractable hard top which can fold back into two overlapping sections in 14 seconds. It has a spaceframe chassis made from 11 different aluminum alloys and the torsional rigidity and beam stiffness at the same level as its solid roof brother. The old 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine of the 458 Spider has been dropped in favor of a new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8, which is capable of putting down a total of 670 HP (492 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque, available at 3,000 rpm. The 488 Spider can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3 seconds and it can reach 200 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 8.7 seconds.
