Ferrari has made the video debut of the recently unveiled 488 Spider.
After it has been shown over the web just a few hours ago, the brand new Ferrari 488 Spider is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of its first clip, which has been recently released by the Maranello based automaker. Don’t expect any driving footage or engine roar because Ferrari is keeping these a secret for the moment but that doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy it.
The Ferrari 488 Spider is the roadster version of the 488 GTB. This is coming as a replacement for the 458 Spider and it is more than a simple facelift, as the carmaker says that a lot of new features have been added to both the exterior and interior design. The model has 25 percent chassis improvement, aerodynamic underbody with vortex generators, electric glass rear wind stop, blown spoiler and a retractable hardtop which can be folded in 14 seconds.
The rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout has been maintained and the same 3.9 liter V8 twin turbo engine, as the one of the 488 GTB, is found under its hood. This is rated at 670 HP (492 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the supercar to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3 seconds and to go to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.7 seconds. The Ferrari 488 Spider will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this September. You can read more about it here.
