The brand is keeping its fans happy – first we got the wintery Challenger AWD and now we’re getting ready for the revival of the iconic Demon badge for the “ultimate performance halo.”
The first teaser trailer is here and the company promises to light everyone – not on fire – with a wide array of modifications, including reducing the weight of the muscle car. Dodge is delivering some details about the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon – this even more hardcore muscle car than its Hellcat sibling is supposed to arrive 200 pounds (90.7 kilograms) lighter than the latter. The clip specifically discusses this cure, of course without offering a clear view of the coupe. We do have the chance to glimpse a few details – such as a different hood or the massive wheels at the back.
Making the math we see that a 2017 Challenger Hellcat with manual gearbox will tip the scales at 4,448 pounds (2,018 kg) so taking off the 200 pounds means the diet has gotten rid of around 5 percent of the “fat”. The automaker also hints there are further customizations on store at the “wheels, steering, suspension, brakes, interior construction and components” level. Dodge will take the wraps off its latest and greatest SRT at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in April. Until then – we have no less than 12 videos in the teasing campaign to look forward to.
