The North American International Auto Show in Detroit, in full swing right now, has been a paradise for SUV and pickup fans, among the most important introductions being the al-new generation of the Ram 1500 full-size pickup truck.
The new machine is something to be reckoned with – it’s a complete redesign through and through, lighter, more powerful and most of all more technologically advanced. Yet, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ marketing experts do know very well the exact type of demographics the 1500 targets, and decided to pay both a tribute in the first commercial – which features the truck in both urban but most of all rural America. By the way, it doesn’t get any more ‘Merican than reaching out to the folks via The Tennessee Kids. In case you don’t know your music stuff, these are the guys backing during concerts Tennessee-born Justin Timberlake.
And just to make sure everyone gets the memo, they added an interesting remake of the classic John Denver track Thank God I’m a Country Boy, while the new Ram is doing… country pickup stuff. The neat thing about the new Ram is anyone can do that stuff – haul hay, drive fast down country dirt roads, etc. – and at the end of the day hit the nicest urban setting in a tux and coming out of a truck that’s plastered inside with real wood, leather, metallic trim and got there using the new 10-inch infotainment system.
