The first unit of the recently unveiled Shelby GT350R Mustang bas been offered for auction during the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona for an impressive amount.
The very first unit of the Shelby GT350R Mustang has managed to find its first owner during the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, the past weekend, who had to pay no less than 1,000,000 USD before he could make sure that the new ride will be going home with him. This has been a charity auction so all proceeds raised by Ford will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
“We are thrilled to donate the first retail production Shelby GT350R to JDRF for auction. When this car crosses the auction block it should raise a tremendous amount of money for a great charity”, said said Raj Nair, the Ford Group vice president.
As you probably already know by now, the public debut of the Shelby GT350R Mustang has been made at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. The model in question has received a new body kit, with a more aerodynamic diffuser, a hood vent, updated fender vents, new side skirts, front splitter, a carbon fiber rear wing and several other goodies. The vehicle is powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, rated with more than 500 HP (368 kW) and at least 542 Nm (400 lb-ft), connected to a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited slip Torsen differential.
