A Ford EcoSport crossover has been recently caught on camera while being tested on public roads in India.
The North American based automaker Ford has announced its plans to transform the EcoSport into a global model ever since earlier this year and now it seems that the company is living up to its name and it’s getting ready to offer the crossover in India too. The guys at Indian Autos Blog have managed to catch the model on camera while being tested on a public road. Our source is saying that the model will use the 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines from the Fiesta, along with the 1.0 liter EcoBoost.
The Ford EcoSport will be launched in India in 2013 but this is all we’ve got on the model aimed towards the Asian country for the moment. As a quick reminder, the Ford EcoSport is coming with a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, on the Old Continent, which is producing a total output of 113 HP and 115 lb-ft of torque. The model is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 11.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 112 mph. Other units available are the 1.0 EcoBoost, the 1.5 TiVCT, the 2.0L and the 1.5L Duratorq TDCI. In the United Kingdom, the price of the small SUV has been set at 14,000 pounds.
The 2015 Ford Mustang will not receive any diesel, hybrid or electric versions, as the company has officially announced.
