[Video] Ford puts up 360/VR video for use to see the F-150 Raptor going to Baja image

The Baja 1000 is well known for being one of the toughest races in the world, so even though nothing compares to the real deal you might want to sit back and relax in VR and 360 degrees with this video from Ford.

The company has decided to offer its motorsport fans – and more – a taste of the action happening at Baja and recently outed a VR experience for iOS and Android users. It has as the main lead a factory stock Raptor taking up the Mexican wilderness en route to a podium finish (third place) at the 49th Baja 1000 last November. “We are excited to debut this virtual reality story, a first for the all-new Raptor,” said Henry Ford III, Global Marketing Manager of Ford Performance. “’Born to Baja’ showcases the Built Ford Tough attitude that is at the heart of this performance monster.” The stock Baja vehicle still needs safety requirements and vehicles adjustments – so there’s a full Chromalloy steel cage, alongside racing seats and a full race harness.

In addition the standard fuel tank was ditched in favor of a puncture-resistant fuel cell, and the stock Raptor suspension was modified to cope with the added weight. The Raptor was driven for Ford Performance and Greg Foutz Motorsports. The team finished the 850-mile off-road endurance experience in 39 hours and 59 minutes, with the Raptor’s brakes, 10-speed automatic transmission, and 3.5-liter, 450-horsepower EcoBoost V6 left completely untouched.
