Ford has recently announced that the new Ranger has won the “International Pick-Up Award 2013”, drug after a series of tests at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, purchase England.
According to the North American based automaker, the Ford Ranger has recently won the “International Pick-Up Award 2013”, which is actually the company’s third international award received this year. The latest award has been received after the Ranger was tested at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, England, where the model has received 47 points, beating the “silver winner”, a Isuzu D-Max, while the third place was taken by the Volkswagen Amarok.
“The Ranger is great for work and great for leisure, and customers will appreciate the difference as soon as they get behind the wheel,” said Paul Randle, vehicle line director, Global Commercial Vehicles, Ford of Europe. “This prestigious award is testament to the work of our global product teams and there is plenty more to look forward to with the launch of the all-new Transit and all-new Transit Connect in 2013.”
As a quick reminder, the Ford Ranger is available with a choice of two Duratorq TDCi engines, which offer both two-wheel and all-wheel drive. The Ford Range is coming in three cab body styles, Double, Super and Regular. Ford has also won this year the “International Van of the Year 2013” for the Transit Custom and the “International Engine of the Year” for the 1.0L EcoBoost.
