After teasing it just before the Frankfurt Motor Show, medical Audi finally unveiled its luxurious and now eco-friendly A8 Hybrid at the German event, order completing the automaker’s lineup in the premium segment with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Audi says that its new A8 Hybrid is powered by a 2.0 liter TFSI engine and an electric motor, pill delivering a total of 245 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. Even if 245 HP on a large car doesn’t sound like much, adding the fact that it’s a hybrid too, we can tell you that the A8 is able to hit 100 km/h from standstill in 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 235 km/h.
So after we talked about its performance it’s time to present more figures, like the 148 and 6.4, which stand for the CO2 emissions in grams per kilometer and average fuel consumption.
The new A8 Hybrid has three different settings for its engine, a full electric drive for maximum 3 kilometers and up to 60 km/h, the D mode, which combines both petrol and electric units and the S, which will bring to the surface the dynamic potential of the two engines and the chassis.
The interior design of the A8 Hybrid isn’t any different than its petrol version and customers can still enjoy the luxury, while sitting on 21 inch wheels.
It seems that the new generation of the A8 means everything for the German automaker and different versions of it seem to pop-up every day, like the powerful W12 L, the limited edition, the armored version made by the Russians and now the eco-friendly one.
