The very first promotional video with the brand new VW Golf 7 GTI has been recently released by the German based automaker.
After we have seen the concept car back in 2012, time has come to meet the final production version of the brand new Volkswagen Golf GTI MK7. The model is being placed into the spotlights these days with its official presentation during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and with the help of a first promotional video which should make every hot hatch enthusiast out there considering buying one, if they somehow forget about the A45 AMG.
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTI is riding on the MQB platform and it’s getting a lowered sport chassis, a new body kit, a diffuser, wider side sills, 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/45 tires, sports seats, new steering wheel, new pedals and more. The model is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 220 HP (162 kW) in standard and 230 HP in the GTI Performance variant. Both of them have a peak torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), enough to allow them to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 and 6.4 seconds, with top speeds of 246 km/h (153 mph) and 250 km/h (155 mph). The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or to a six-speed dual clutch automatic. Prices for the new Golf GTI start at just over 28,000 euros.
