A Gumpert Apollo supercar has been recently crashed during the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed while the driver was doing about 80 miles per hour.
This year’s edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed had just about everything, from new cars which were officially presented to the public in a world premiere to a lot of fun and, of course, car crashes. From the last “category” we can put our finger on a crash of the Gumpert Apollo, which is actually one of the ugliest exotic cars out there. According to local reports, the German supercar was crashed at about 80 mph and a female passenger, inside the vehicle, has been taken to hospital, with minor injuries.
As a quick reminder, the Gumpert Apollo is a supercar developed by Gumpert Sportwagenmanufacktur GmbH, a German carmaker, and the model has been in production ever since 2005. The Gumpert Apollo is powered by a 4.2 liter twin-turbo V8 engine which is coming in three outputs, 650 PS, 700 PS and 800 PS, with the “slowest” one allowing an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 360.4 km/h (223.9 mph). the Gumpert Apolllo is 4,460 mm long, 1,998 mm wide and 1,114 mm tall, with a weight of 1,100 kg.
