Porsche is taking another step in front of its competition and even if the German automaker didn’t say when a hybrid powered 911 will hit the showrooms worldwide, it’s still talking about the technology through the voice of the head of Motorsport, Hartmut Kristen.
In an interview during the Frankfurt Motor Show, placed on the official Porsche YouTube channel, Hartmut Kristen is comparing the 911 GT3 RS to the racing version that took part at the 24 Hour Nurburgring, explaining how most of the technology from the racer ended up on the road going version.
In Kristen’s vision, the road-going Porsches will be invaded by hybrid developments and the technology will be implemented on the 911 for the first time, while the other models in the German automaker’s lineup will borrow it right after that.
Even if the iconic 911 is still keeping the same shape over the years, the technology under its body will change pretty soon, becoming more efficient in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption while the performance will increase.
