Monster machines are nothing new – for example there are two aftermarket developers continuously developing 2,000+ Nissan GT-Rs in order to break the drag racing record.
And there are also drift Frankensteins such as the one we see here that go for engine-swaps – a rather humble Toyota GT86 has been treated to a Ferrari V8! The result is that pro drift driver and mad scientist type Ryan Tuerck gets a completely new toy to fool around on the track. It’s called the GT4586 and it was actually revealed back in November during SEMA – but we weren’t actually confident it won’t blow up, until now. So here’s the first time we see the monster in action where it belongs – on the track.
Tuerck decided the Willow Springs Raceway in California could provide the perfect setup for some light “testing.” And light testing means there’s a trail of smoke that would be the envy of an old steam locomotive any day. And he also brought some friends to the party – including a a Nissan 370Z Nismo driven by our old acquaintance Chris Forsberg. The GT4586 does have the engine from a Ferrari 458 Italia, so the 4.5-liter V8 with 570 horsepower sounds blissfully amazing. No chance we’re not going to enjoy the video, right?
