[Video] Holden Special Vehicles reveals 585 HP GTS Maloo image

Australia’s Holden – actually its Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) division – have officially unveiled the new and powerful special edition GTS Maloo.

The new GTS Maloo has been worked by the specialists at HSV to introduce a “new benchmark in the performance market,” – well, at least locally – and have introduced the model as a follow-up to their new Gen F lineup performance modifications. That particular lineup was med up of no less than five vehicles, among them the Maloo, Clubsport / Clubsport Tourer, Senator Signature and range-topping GTS. They all came equipped (save for the GTS) with the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine. Now, Holden has decided to mate the Maloo to the GTS’s power, fitting it with the supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine that churns out an impressive 85 HP (430 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

The GTS Maloo also has a highly aggressive styling kit with a dynamic front fascia that has LED daytime running lights and honeycomb mesh grille inserts. The pickup also has a remote locking hard tonneau cover, 20-inch lightweight alloys and a menacing four-tips exhaust system. The changes to the interior are also performance oriented – we have sport seats, a sport steering wheel, alloy pedals, carbon-like trim and a MyLink infotainment system with navigation. The limited-edition will only have 250 units – 240 for Australia and 10 for New Zealand.
