The Holden VF SS V Redline has managed to set a new lap record for trucks on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, with a time of 8 minutes and 19.47 seconds.
A world record for a commercial and utility vehicle has been recently set on the Nurburgring in Germany, by the Australians at Holden, with a VF SS V Redline Ute. The model in question was driven by Rob Trubiani, a Holden Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, who managed to complete a lap of the Ring in just 8 minutes and 19.47 seconds.
“We came up with a plan to tackle the Nürburgring and break the world record for a commercial or utility vehicle but when we did our research it seemed one didn’t exist, so we decided to set a record instead!”, said Trubiani.
The estimated time of the Ute was standing at 8 minutes and 30 seconds but the real lap was 10 seconds faster. The 20.8 km of the Nordschleife were completed in just 8 minutes and 19.47 seconds. Power to the Holden VF SS V Redline was being provided by a 6.0 liter V8 engine, producing 349 HP at 5,600 rpm and 517 Nm (381 lb-ft) at 4,400 rpm.
