The brand new Honda Civic Type R has been recently spied on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, where the model was being tested.
After it was caught on camera by our spy photographers just a day before writing this article, the brand new Honda Civic Type R is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a video. The footage posted below is showing the new Honda Civic Type R in action on the Nurburgring, where the carmaker is making sure that everything is working just like it should, before introducing the model into showrooms.
The 2015 Honda Civic Type R will become a rival for models like the Ford Focus ST, the Renault Megane RS, the Opel Astra OPC, the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Kia Cee’d GT, amongst others. Power to the model is expected to be provided by a 2.0 liter engine, which should produce a total output of 300 HP (224 kW). This is believed to become the fastest front-wheel drive car on the Nurburgring, beating the record held by the Renault Megane RS Trophy, which has lapped the track in 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds. The Civic Type R might be unveiled next year, in Geneva.
