The Japanese automaker has decided a new 360-degree promotional video should depict the interesting battle between its RC213V MotoGP Motorcycle, the Castrol Honda Touring car and the road-legal Civic Type R.
The footage has been sourced from the Circuito Tazio Nuvolari in Italy, and we have here a bonanza of six different vehicles that allow viewers to pan around and reach a better understanding of the action being depicted. The video stars are undoubtedly Gabriele Tarquini driving the Civic Type R and Tiago Monteiro who sits behind the wheel of the Touring Car. The other three Civic Type Rs featured here were manned by British Touring Car drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal and BTCC development driver Jack Clarke. The exclusive event was featured by Honda and Castrol and brought the racing stars alongside the recently introduced Civic Type R. “The Type R is fantastic; it’s great on the track, and everybody is incredibility impressed by both the handling and braking performance,” commented Tarquini.
Delivered to the worldwide audience earlier this year, the all new Honda Civic Type R hot hatch has under the hood a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powerplant that churns out 305 bhp (310 PS / 228 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Mated to a six speed manual gearbox, the Type R will jump to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds on its way to the limit speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).
