The Japanese based automaker Honda has released the first video teaser with the brand new Civic Type R, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month.
Honda is currently working on the high performance version of the new Civic, the Type R, which will compete with models like the Renault Megane RS, the Ford Focus ST, the Opel Astra OPC / Vauxhall Astra VXR, the VW Golf GTI or the Kia Cee’d GT, amongst others, and in order to place it into the spotlights once again, the carmaker has released its first ever video teaser.
The footage posted below isn’t showing anything interesting, as expected, but rumors are saying that the new Honda Civic Type R is expected to get a more aggressive look, an updated chassis, new suspension system, tweaked steering and some other tweaks, which should make its appealing to its future customers. Power is believed to be provided by a 2.0 liter turbocharged gasoline engine, which will produce a total output of 300 HP (224 kW). Additional details on the final production version of the new Honda Civic Type R are limited for the moment and will be announced on the 10th of September, in Frankfurt.
