The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has finally introduced their smallest model to the Indian auto market, named the Eon, which is actually supposed to be a direct competitor for the Maruti Suzuki Alto, the vehicle which is conquering India.
Being a low-cost model for the Indian auto market, don’t expect too much from the Eon, and we are glad to say that the small Hyundai vehicle has a steering wheel, some pedals and a roof, so you won’t feel any rain. The windshield wipers also come in standard, along with the seats, which can carry five people.
The Hyundai Eon is pushed, because we can’t say powered under 1.0 liters, by an 800 cc three-cylinder engine which is delivering 56 horsepower so on a windy day we suggest that you should take the bicycle instead. Fuel consumption is interesting and the Eon does 21.1 km/l, which translated into European means 4.7 liters / 100 km or 49.7 mpg. Not bad, but think VW Polo BlueMotion.
Even if the Hyundai Eon has just been launched in India, the automaker has received 25.000 orders for the small vehicle so Maruti Suzuki Alto, watch out and start offering some extra mirrors as standard so you can regain your customers.
