The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has recently released the first videos with the brand new Genesis Coupe race car, which will debut at this year’s Pikes Peak Hill Climb.
The newest creation signed by Hyundai, in terms of race cars, is named the Genesis Coupe Pikes Peak and, just like it’s name is suggesting, the model is based on the Genesis Coupe, but this is a completely new vehicle. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe Pikes Peak will enter the Unlimited Class and it has been described as being the “fastest, most powerful Hyundai racer ever” by the carmaker.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe Pikes Peak will get a lowered composite body with a massive rear wing, titanium and carbon fiber components and some other tweaks, which should help keep its weight at 453 kg (1,000 lbs) lighter than last year’s Genesis Coupe. The race car will be powered by a 3.8 liter V6 turbocharged engine, which has 90 percent of components from the production version. The vehicle will produce more than 900 HP (671 kW) and 1,083 Nm of torque (800 lb-ft). You can check out the Genesis Coupe Pikes Peak being previewed in the videos posted below.
