The South-Korean automaker has revealed online the first official images and details with the fourth-generation of the popular Santa Fe SUV, ahead of the full introduction scheduled on February 21 and the European premiere at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
Following a rather long teaser campaign, the new Santa Fe has arrived to show to its competitors how a generational change should look – the predecessor’s style hasn’t carried over one bit. The midsize crossover marks a stark design departure from the old version, adopting the new design language of the model premiered in the SUV segment with the Kona subcompact and carried over quickly to the Nexo fuel cell hydrogen-powered SUV.
There aren’t too many details to discuss at the moment, but we do know some of the dimensions of the new Santa Fe – coming in at 4,770 mm in length and 1,890 in terms of width. The company’s new corporate “cascading grille” that was also seen on the new i30 is standing out in the front fascia – but otherwise the SUV does come with its own special look thanks to the new arrangement of the lighting clusters. The interior again shares some common traits with the Kona (no resemblance to the Nexo though) – with a tablet-style arrangement for the infotainment system’s display.
