The South Korean based automaker Hyundai has recently released a first teaser video with a new race car, which will compete in the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
One of the automakers waiting to take a new start in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, or the “Race to the Clouds” as it is also known, is Hyundai Motorsports USA, after a modified Genesis Coupe, driven by Rhys Miller, managed to set an all-time record back in 2012. Now the carmaker is getting ready to compete in this year’s edition of the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and the race car which will be used can be seen in the teaser video posted below.
Hyundai and Miller are currently working hard on shedding approximately 1,000 lbs (450 kg) from the weight of the last years Genesis Coupe, and can be done by using extensive titanium and carbon fiber. Power to the race car will be provided by a V6 engine, which is expected to produce a total output of 900 HP. Additional details on the Hyundai Motorsports USA’s 2013 Pikes Peak race car are limited for the moment, but you can check out the model in the teaser video posted below.
