The Belgian Grand Prix got off to a chaotic start at Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.
Romain Grosjean’s F1 car catapulted over two others, including points leader Fernando Alonso in the first corner, just after the start.
Grosjean hit Hamilton side-on, starting an accident that also took out Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso, the latter of whom was lucky not to be hit on the head when the E20 was airborne.
Grosjean said he could not be sure who had caused the crash.
“[I had] a very good start and then boom – it was the end of the race. I haven’t seen the images and I need to see them to have any point of view,” he said.
“But the main thing is that everybody is OK. That is the most important for me.”
Here, in incredible pictures and videos, is the crash and its aftermath.
