On more than one occasion we’ve called the Murcielago as one of the hottest Lamborghinis of the modern age, but we weren’t actually expecting or wanted to see one get crisp.
An auto dealership employee in England has probably managed to nail his last job in the area after he was in an accident with a company Lamborghini Murciélago, the crash ending up in a fire that engulfed the prized supercar. You can see and whip a tear for the burning Italian steed in the video embedded below and will get angry finding out the guy was not only a bad driver but also tested positive for cocaine – in fact three times the limit. His name is Cary Atkins – remember if he ever comes across you – and he was in Essex driving the Murciélago when he crashed it into the railings on the other side of the road. “I think I must have put my foot down too hard on the pedal and I lost control,” he said, according to a report from The Daily Mail. Considering the level of intoxication, we’re pretty much astonished he remembered anything.
According to the report, Atkins confessed to court that he “had a heavy night” the evening before the crash, and he thought wrong that enough drugs were out of his system to drive legally. The police at the scene tested him for alcohol and didn’t find any, aside from the fact he tested positive for cocaine. Atkins’ employer legally allowed him to use the Murciélago as a company car but he won’t enjoy the supercar driving days as the court suspended his driving license for 24 months, sentenced him to 150 hours of community service, and commanded him to pay 145 pounds ($210) in fines and court costs.
