The newest Isuzu model is named the MU-X and this has been officially revealed by the car manufacturer.
The brand new Isuzu MU-X is getting ready to hit the off-roader segment in Australia. The model in question will be sold in both two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. According to the car manufacturer, the new Isuzu MU-X is borrowing some of the styling cues from the D-MAX and it stands out from a crowd thanks to its muscular flared wheel arches and wedge-shaped front fascia. The cabin of the model can carry up to seven people and it will become available in three trim levels.
Standard equipment to be found on the Isuzu MU-X will include the iPod and Bluetooth support or the six-speaker audio system, while the top of the line LS-T version will receive 10-inch DVD monitors for the rear seats and a roof-mounted Sky Sound system, amongst others. As far as the engine lineup goes, the new Isuzu MU-X will get an inline 3.0 liter turbo diesel unit under its hood, which is producing a total output of 174 HP (130 kW), at 3,600 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft), available at 1,800 rpm.
Power is being sent to either the rear-wheel drive or the all-wheel drive through a five-speed manual or a five-speed electronically controlled transmission, with a sequential shift and brake shift lock. In the automatic gearbox versions, hill descent and hill ascent control come as standard. The engine lineup actually stops here because this is the only unit available for the model. Prices for the Isuzu MU-X will start at 40,500 AUD in Australia, for the base entry-level 2WD version, while for the 4×4 LS-T, its future customers will have to pay 53,500 AUD.
