Jaguar has officially pulled the wraps off a prototype version of the upcoming F-Pace SUV.
Jaguar’s first ever SUV will be called the F-Pace and it comes as no surprise because a lot of test mules have been caught on camera these past few months and the vehicle has “shined” in a lot of reports too. But what comes as a surprise is the fact that the carmaker has recently introduced a prototype of the vehicle which will be performing duties as a support vehicle for Team Sky at Tour de France.
“Jaguar will set the pace for Team Sky this Saturday when a prototype version of the highly anticipated Jaguar F-PACE will support the team at the Tour de France Grand Depart in Utrecht”, says the carmaker in the press release.
The new Jaguar F-Pace prototype will be supporting Team Sky rider Chris Froome, on stage 1 of the 2015 Tour de France at the individual time trial. This will start from Utrecht, in the Netherlands, and will go south towards Belgium on a 13.7 km route. The vehicle will have to carry the team’s equipment like the spares for the bike, the drinks, tools, energy gels and will also carry the mechanic, doctor, a senior team member and the Team Sky sports director. Jaguar says that the new F-Pace will be getting the largest trunk capacity in its class. The final presentation of the model will take place at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this September, but sales will begin in early next year.
