The British brand has prepared a teaser video that spearheads the online unveiling of the 2015 XE S. The full batch of XE models are slotted to make their first public appearance during the Paris Motor Show in early October.
With the entire lineup slotted to be revealed during the French motor show, the Brits have are prepared to entice us with the September 8 reveal of the XE S version. The smallest Jaguar model, which follows in the footsteps of the largely unsuccessful X-Type, will have 75% of the body structure made of aluminum – allowing for a lightweight car that has great torsion stiffness and lower fuel consumption.
Speaking of which – the most economical version of the premium model will need just 4-liters/100 km (62.4 mpg) – which equates to CO2 emissions below the 100 g/km threshold. At the other end of the spectrum we’ll be “hit” by the rumored XE SVR that should reach in excess of 186 mph (300 km/h) thanks to the 489 bhp supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine. That showstopper is not expected though before 2016.
The new model, which will be manufactured at a dedicated new assembly facility at Jaguar’s Solihull factory in the UK should also come with a laser head-up display that boasts “sharp, high-contrast color images into driver’s line of sight, safely and intuitively conveying vital vehicle, road and navigation information.”
