A mysterious version of the Jaguar XE has been recently spotted on the road where it was being tested out, wearing some camouflage on its body.
Hiding a Jaguar XE underneath a lot of camouflage can seem pointless, considering the fact that the regular model has been officially unveiled back in September, 2014, but if you think at it as a BMW 3-Series fighter, than you probably understand the new exhaust arrangement at the rear end of this test mule. The reason is simple, a rival for the range topping model M3 and also for the C63 AMG and other performance vehicles in the segment.
The upcoming Jaguar XE SVR will be developed by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team and it should be introduced at the end of this year or even in early 2015. The model is expected to get a more aggressive body kit, along with suspension, brake and steering tweaks, which should be enough to make it one desirable.
The most important part of it will be found under its hood where initial reports are stating that the 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine will be found. The unit is expected to produce a total output of 489 HP (364 kW), sent to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the performance sedan should accelerate in approximately 4 seconds. Top speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on it are limited at this time.
