After presenting its newest creation yet at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Jaguar has decided to release a commercial video in order to promote the XKR-S Convertible.
Even if the new Jaguar XKR-S Convertible has just made its public appearance for the first time, being kept until now in a secret, dark place where only people who praised it were allowed to see it, the car manufacturer has decided to put its newest model yet into the spotlights once again by releasing a commercial video of it. In the video below, you can see the XKR-S Convertible being tested on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, which is slightly becoming the automotive industry’s Mecca.
Jaguar says that its new XKR-S Convertible takes its power from a 5.0 liter V8 engine which is developing 542 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque (501 lb-ft), mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. According to the automaker, the XKR-S Convertible can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, while the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time takes 4.4 seconds. The top speed of the Jaguar XKR-S is 186 mph which is translated into 300 km/h.
The new Jaguar XKR-S will go on sale in the United Kingdom for 103.000 GBP and in the United States for 138.000 USD, and even if the car manufacturer hasn’t announce anything yet in terms of trim levels, the drop-top will definitely be a success.
