Hero chef Jamie Oliver was involved recently with Land Rover’s latest promotional stunt – that saw the engineers and designers cater to the “taste” of the TV star in designing his ultimate machine.
And he’s come up with quite the handful – and we only imagine how tailgating with Jamie would look like. Actually, we don’t have to imagine, because he’s giving us a virtual taste of the capabilities of his new machine, which naturally has a built-in, complete kitchen. Jamie Oliver’s tricked-out Discovery has been specifically commissioned according to his very quirky desires (butter can be made in the wheel-affixed kitchen utensils) by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division.
There’s a pasta cutter built into the front grille, a spice rack and herb garden at the rear pillars, an ice cream machine in the rear wheels, and the pièce de résistance, a fully functional kitchen in the back with everything you need to grill a delicious steak as shown by Jamie Oliver. The inside is also filled with Oliver’s personality – there’s a functional toaster in the center tunnel and a special compartment securing three types of jam. In the third video of the series we see the front grille rotisserie feature – it actually takes power from the engine, which also serves as the location of the slow cooker pot where Jamie Oliver decided to deliver his favorite recipe for baked beans.
