[VIDEO] Jay Leno’s Garage shows his personal McLaren P1
One of the most famous petrol heads out there, Jay Leno, has recently presented his very own McLaren P1 in the latest video uploaded onto his YouTube channel.
The first U.S. spec production McLaren P1 has been delivered back in March and it was actually bought by Jay Leno, but now, two months later, the British hypercar in question is being placed into the spotlights, as it is starring in the newest video of Jay Leno’s Garage. The American TV personality is being accompanied in the presentation of the P1 by Mike Flewitt, the CEO of McLaren Automotive.
The McLaren P1 has been introduced a year ago, in its final production version, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This is the first hybrid supercar produced by the company and it is also the fastest road-legal product ever to wear the McLaren badge on its body. Power is coming from a 3.8L V8 twin turbo and an electric motor, producing a total of 890 HP and 978 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is made in just 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph), the supercar needs just 16.5 seconds. Top speed has been electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
At least 10 million vehicles were recalled by Toyota back in 2009 and 2010 for the “unintended acceleration” issue and so far GM has made 67 separate recall actions with almost 30 million vehicles due back in service.
