The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently released more details on the JDM 2013 Auris model for its local auto market.
According to the car manufacturer, the JDM Auris which is currently sold in Japan is a bit different than the one sold in the rest of the world. The engine lineup found on the model includes two four-cylinder petrol units, one of them coming as a 1.5 liter and the other as a 1.8 liter. Toyota says that the smaller engine is developing a total output of 107 horsepower (108 PS / 79 kW) on the front-wheel drive and 103 HP (104 PS / 76 kW) in all-wheel drive. The unit is mated to a Super CVT-i transmission and a stop/start system can be mated to it.
Moving on to the other unit, the 1.8 liter, and we find out that it generates a total output of 140 horsepower (142 PS / 104 kW) in all versions of the JDM except on the RS Grade, where it gets 143 PS (145 PS / 106 kW), thanks to the new sports exhaust system. The engine can be mated either to the above mentioned Super CVT-i or to a six-speed manual transmission.
