Not to be mistaken with the Trailhawk, this camouflaged Grand Cherokee prototype has been spotted wearing some of the most enticing upgrades you would see on the Dodge Hellcats, so we might be looking at up to 707 hp of might.
The near-production prototype was filmed cruising the streets of Detroit and wearing some disguise up front to conceal the styling modifications – and lurking underneath the black camouflage is an extra vent located underneath the grille to get some extra cooling for the powerful engine working its way under the massive hood. The test vehicle further uncovered its performance credentials because it’s wearing a set of Brembo brakes sourced from the Dodge Hellcat models and inside the vehicle there was even a roll cage – though expect that to be dropped in time for the series production.
Of course, we already heard the rumor mill whispering about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also getting an upgraded suspension that will make it even nimbler on the roads. The top of the line SUV will make use of the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 unit borrowed from the Hellcats and thus could arrive at the party with the 707 horsepower (527 kilowatts) and 650 pound-feet (880 newton meters). It’s unknown if that’s the case or it will get a detuned version, but we know for sure AWD will be standard.
