The famous Top Gear UK presenter Jeremy Clarkson has just released its new DVD, named Poweredup, and we now have a glimpse about what that would be like with the TV show’s “boss” getting behind the wheel of a Ferrari FF and racing it against the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Jeremy Clarkson is presenting the race in its unique way and proving in the end that with patience, the 458 Italia can be beaten, especially in a supercar that has all-wheel drive, but, then again, it depends on who is driving the mid-engined “beast”.
As a reminder, the Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine, shared with Maserati, which is developing a total output of 562 horsepower at 9.000 rpm and has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) available at 6.000 rpm, but 80 percent of the torque comes at 3.250 rpm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission similar to the one featured on the California.
The Ferrari FF on the other hand has four more cylinders than the Italia, being powered by a 6.3 liter V12 naturally aspirated and direct injected engine, generating 651 horsepower at 8.000 rpm and 683 Nm of torque (504 lb-ft) at 6.000 rpm, mated to the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
