Two hot rear mid-engined supercars, the Lamborghini Aventador and the McLaren 650S have been recently involved in several drag races in Sweden.
Sweden is not exactly known for having a lot of fast and exotic vehicles but, hey, every country has its car addicts and the northern European one makes no exception. The video posted below has a good chance of answering a lot of questions as two hot vehicles, the Lamborghini Aventador and the McLaren 650S are being put head to head.
The Lamborghini Aventador is the flagship model made in Sant’Agata Bolognese. This has been around since 2011 and it is being offered in two body styles, 2-door roadster or 2-door coupe, with a mid-engine and all-wheel drive layout. Power is being provided by a 6.5 liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, producing 690 HP (510 kW) and 689 Nm (508 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the wheels through a 7-speed semi-automatic transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is made in 3s and top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph). The McLaren 650S on the other hand has been around since 2014 and it is also being offered in two body styles. The rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive is being shared across the range, along with the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, available in various outputs. 641 HP (478 kW) and 680 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque is what it is producing in this case, sent to the RWD through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes 3 secodns and top speed is 333 km/h (207 mph).
