[Video] Land Rover learns survival skills from Bear Grylls
The well-known television star, British survivalist and Mount Everest conqueror Bear Grylls has became Land Rover’s new global brand ambassador.
The collaboration between the Man vs. Wild star and the off-road specialists has already started with Land Roevr releasing a short teaser video that sees Grylls promoting the yet unreleased Discovery Sport SUV. The new generation of the iconic 4×4 is expected to be revealed globally on September 2.
Grylls seems to have been favoring Land Rover vehicles for years, that is when he was not diving out of helicopters or airplanes, paramotoring over some treacherous mountains, running through forest fires and free climbing waterfalls.
“I’ve used Land Rover vehicles throughout my life, during my military career, on countless expeditions and then while filming,” Grylls said in a recent statement from Land Rover. “From deserts and jungles to the highest mountains; they always deliver a rugged reliability that you can always count on when the chips are down in hostile environments.”
The collaboration also includes Grylls mentoring 22-year-old Alex Woodford, the winner of Land Rover’s Discovery Adventure Challenge, in his quest to go into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure later this year. Other famous Land Rover ambassadors include experienced adventurers Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Ben Saunders.
