The 2015 Auto Shanghai also saw a record being broken: British al-wheel drive expert marquee has celebrated the production of its six million unit, a Yulong White Range Rover long-wheelbase Vogue SE.
There are also some other milestones achieved by the brand this year – it’s been making all-wheel drive vehicles for 67 years and the Range Rover model has turned in for its 45th anniversary of uninterrupted production. Presented at its stand at the Shanghai Auto Show, the landmark Range Rover has, besides the Yulong White exterior some unique puddle lamps that display the Land Rover logo, the “6,000,000” number and also “April 2015.” “For 67 years Land Rover has been building the world’s most capable all-purpose vehicles. It’s fitting that the 6,000,000th Land Rover to be produced is a Range Rover, since this year marks the 45th anniversary of the original Range Rover’s launch. And with the growth of sales in China since the latest version of the Range Rover was introduced in 2012, it is entirely appropriate that this landmark vehicle is destined for a Chinese customer,” commented Andy Goss, the sales chief at Jaguar Land Rover.
The model displayed in Shanghai will participate in numerous celebrations organized for the landmarks in China and then find a fitting customer in the country, the world’s largest auto market. The current Range Rover generation has been introduced back in 2012 and has kept its well-known off-road abilities despite the brand’s desire to mesmerize luxury seekers. The vehicle number 6,000,000 has been produced at the company’s UK factory in Solihull, where Land Rover vehicles have been continuously built since 1948.
