Last time we saw Lamborghini teasing us to the arrival of the Urus – expected on December 4 – they were playing with some sand dunes in hot weather climate.
Now they’re more appropriately in tune with what’s going on in much of the Northern hemisphere – where, as the saying goes, winter is coming. But unlike GoT characters that were freezing their swords in the far north, upcoming Lambo Urus owners need not to worry about snow as the “Neve” driving mode will take care of things – just like the Sabbia mode was making sure you’re not going to get stuck your prized possession in the dunes.
It’s of course just an excuse to show us a camouflaged prototype play in the snow, and an argument to keep up the interest for the impending release. Lamborghini’s Anima drive mode selector is something we’ve seen before, but for the Urus comes with all-new modes, adding to the roster comprised of Strada, Sport, and Corsa, the SUV’s exclusive Sabbia (sand), Terra (dirt), and Neve (snow). Of course, everyone expects the Urus SUV to play right into the worldwide love for high-riding vehicles, Lamborghini itself expecting to double its annual production on sales of the new SUV. The Italian thoroughbred will be initially harness power from a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with as much as 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts), and everyone expects a range expansion to include a plug-in hybrid option later on.
