A drag race between two performance vehicles is bringing together the Lexus RC F and the Mercedes-AMG GT S.
The Mercedes-AMG GT S and the Lexus RC F are so far apart but yet so similar. One is considered a true sports car and it is less practical while the other one is a midsized two-door performance vehicle. Both are fast, both are expensive and both can provide you with your daily dose of adrenalin, but which one is the fastest in a drag race? Well, the video posted below should be answering this question, but we don’t encourage fast driving or drag racing on public roads.
Mercedes-AMG has been offering the AMG GT as a successor of the SLS AMG. The sports car has a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 petrol engine under its hood available in two power levels, 460 HP (340 kW) & 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) or 503 HP (375 kW) & 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) in the range-topping AMG GT S. This needs 3.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and it can go up to 310 km/h (190 mph). The Lexus RC F on the other hand has a 5.0 liter V8 engine, capable of producing a total of 450 HP (335 kW) and a peak torque of 518 Nm (383 lb-ft). The midsized two-door performance vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).
