I know we presented more than a month ago a Volkswagen T1 Camper recreated from LEGO but that was nothing compared to this Ford Explorer that has been made out of the same bricks. The only difference is that the SUV has been recreated in life size.
The LEGO replica has been recently unveiled in Chicago and it was made by LEGOLAND Florida using more than 380.000 LEGO bricks to a total weight of 1.204 kg or 2.654 pounds, including a 348 kg (768 pounds) aluminum support structure.
“Ford is excited to support the alliance between LEGOLAND Florida and the Southeast Ford dealers. The LEGOLAND Florida Explorer and the Ford Driving School attraction are great opportunities to showcase our products and safety messages to families and visitors in a unique way”, said the Ford Experiential Marketing Manager, Tracy Magee.
The Ford Explorer replica is expected to return to the sunshine state, being displayed at the Ford Driving School. The LEGOLAND campus allows children as young as six to drive electric vehicles at speeds up to 5 km/h or 3 mph.
