The German based automaker BMW has recently announced the official unveil of the brand new i3, which will make its public debut on Monday, the 29th of July, at 13:15 GMT. The model in question has already been priced and for customers over-seas it will cost 41,350 USD, while in its home market, Germany, the car will set you back for 34,950 euros, VAT included. The BMW i3 will become available to its future customers in November, this year.
BMW says that the i3 is powered by an internal combustion engine, which is rated at 170 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque, which is backed up by a synchronous electric motor, which has been developed and produced by the company. The powertrain is “helped” by a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is offering a range of 8 miles. The new BMW i3 has an aluminum chassis and a CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) passenger cell mounted on top of it.
The model will mark the launch of the new “i” brand, which will also sport the upcoming i8. The BMW i3 will make its public debut at 13:15 GMT, on July 29, 2013, and the event will be held in three places, simultaneous, in London, New York and Beijing.
